I had high hopes for March for Babies 2020. I'm a mom who had a very premature baby almost four years ago.

My son barely survived and was in the NICU for four months. Being co-chair for a cause I strongly believe in has been an honor. My vision for engagement and fundraising was definitely dashed when COVID-19 came into play and the event was canceled. I did not handle the news well. I had no idea how serious things would become and how life would change for everyone.

I had a good cry for a few days and took a step back. I didn't know how to pivot event plans and lost motivation. The toilet paper shortage inspired me though. After scoring a 30 pack from Costco.com I decided to use it as a fundraiser.

That's how Charmin for Charity came to be.

I'm happy to report that close to $3k for March of Dimes was raised. Our grand prize winner won a Quarantine Clean COVID-19 care pack complete with paper towels, toilet paper and disinfectant wipes.

I can rest easy knowing I led by example as a 2020 co-chair even with COVID.

This is how we roll.

Thanks for giving back!

xoxo

Mitzie and Dylan

NICU to Now

Even though he was born at 26 weeks and weighed one pound eight ounces (690 grams), baby Dylan was born to make a difference. A micro preemie no more, Baby D is FOUR! Needless to say he's busy in pre-k and we spend a good portion of our time giving back to causes near and dear to our hearts.

Dylan spent four months in the NICU and each day my husband and I would document our time with our precious babe as we tried to stay hopeful. I managed to edit our 127 day NICU journey into two minutes. Check it out here, and thanks for stopping by.
